Reigniting Your Inner Flame

As I’ve gotten older, walked the path of sobriety, and lived through the collective upheaval of the Covid era—I’ve noticed something. Something quiet, but powerful. I’ve had trouble connecting to my inner joy. That fire inside me—the one that used to light me up with excitement about life—felt distant, like it belonged to a different version of me.
And maybe you’ve felt it too.
It’s not that I haven’t grown. I’ve reached goals. I’ve become an aunt and a wife. I’ve built a life and a business. But the excitement I used to feel waking up each day in my early twenties? That spark? It’s been harder to access.
My mind started getting caught up in the day-to-day—tasks around the house, business logistics, endless family get-togethers, and the inner work of healing old patterns. There was little room left for magic, for aliveness.
Then I read Mysteries by Colin Wilson—an incredible book that made me pause. In it, Wilson talks about how most of us are run by our “inner robot.” We move through life half-asleep, checking off boxes, fulfilling roles. And that vibrant fire many of us felt in youth? It dims as we take on more responsibilities.
But he also writes about how we can snap out of it. That awareness—that flash of presence—is always available to us. And something clicked for me. I realized: I can feel joy anytime. I can choose to be excited. All I have to do is become present and intentional.
That’s when everything started shifting.
As a hypnotherapist, I help people reprogram the subconscious mind for healing, confidence, and transformation—but that doesn’t mean I don’t still have my own work to do. In fact, sometimes it’s easier to guide others than to guide myself.
But this time, I decided to take my own medicine.
I put on my headphones, played one of my personalized hypnosis audios, and chose to reconnect. I set the intention to tap into my inner flame. And I felt it. That old warmth, that spark of joy—it was still there. I had simply forgotten how to access it.
Hypnosis helped me remember.
You see, our subconscious mind—the “robot” Wilson refers to—isn’t the enemy. It helps us get through our days, so we don’t have to relearn how to brush our teeth or drive a car. But it can also keep us stuck in loops if we don’t wake up to it. Hypnosis is one of the most powerful tools for waking up. It helps us return to ourselves—to our truth, our joy, our creativity.
And you don’t need a huge life overhaul to do this. Reigniting your fire can happen in the tiniest moments.
Try brushing your teeth and really feeling each motion. Try eating a meal and actually tasting every bite. Try walking through your house and noticing the colors, the smells, the way your feet hit the floor.
Every moment holds the potential to feel joy. Every task can become a ritual. When we are present, we feel more alive.
So today, I’m inviting you to make the choice I made: reconnect with your fire. You don’t need permission. You don’t have to wait until the to-do list is complete or the healing is “finished.” That flame inside of you is yours—and you can relight it anytime.
Let hypnosis help you remember who you are. Let presence bring you home.
